Luisa S. Valle Castro, is a partner in C. Conde & Assoc. and has been part of the firm since 1999. As part of her vast experience in the insolvency field, Ms. Valle has been involved in all phases of the corporate reorganization process inside and outside of the Bankruptcy Court. She has participated in high profile reorganization cases of corporate and individual debtors, as well as counseled both Debtors and Creditors in all aspects related to bankruptcy proceedings and litigation of complex cases and novel issues in this district. Ms. Valle has ample appellate experience before the United States District Court, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the First Circuit and United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit establishing new case law on various bankruptcy matters.

Ms. Valle graduated in 1995 from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus with honors and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. She obtained her law degree in 1998 from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. Ms. Valle is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She is also a Notary for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico since 1999.

Ms. Valle has been involved, since their inception, in the groundbreaking Title III cases for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and various of its instrumentalities and public corporations.

Since 2017, Ms. Valle has been involved in the representation of various creditors and/or parties in interest in the Title III and Title VI proceedings filed by the Financial and Oversight Management Board for Puerto Rico before the United States District Court under the provisions of the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act, 48 U.S.C. § 2101, et. seq., (PROMESA). This experience has allowed her to participate first hand in this unique process which is the largest municipal bankruptcy case in the history of the United States. The Law Firm has also represented defendants in various multimillion dollar avoidance actions sought within these proceedings, in which Ms. Valle had a significant participation.

Ms. Valle has participated as a speaker in various panels including the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Caribbean Symposium, the “Colegio de Abogados de Puerto Rico” and offered numerous continued legal education courses related to bankruptcy matters, bankruptcy litigation, specifically on the provisions of The Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act, 48 U.S.C. § 2101, et. seq., (PROMESA) and litigation under this specific and unique bankruptcy law.

Ms. Valle is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Federal Bar Association – Puerto Rico Chapter, the Puerto Rico Bankruptcy Bar Association and the International Women Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (“IWIRC”), a network committed to the connection, promotion and success of women in the restructuring and insolvency professionals worldwide.
